There’s been a bit of buzz around James Blake, I’ve checked out a few tracks on his self titled album but this is the first track that’s captured my attention.

This track channels melancholy r&b, a genre that I’m not usually fond of - but somehow the beats pull it all together. Gayngs are another outfit that have been deconstructing r&b elements check out their track, Spanish Platinum if you haven’t already.

Make sure you listen to The Wilhelm Scream with decent external speakers- laptop speakers won’t do it justice.

I bought The Shepherd’s Dog and I’m ashamed to say I didn’t spend as much time with it as I should have. Belated Promise Ring is the first track I’ve heard from Iron & Wine’s latest album Around the Well . I love this track for the sound of the very “lived in” piano and the jaunty bass.
